The main purposes of TACERT are to prevent and actively assist the computer networks security incidents in organizations in Taiwan Academic Network (TANet), to analyze the system vulnerabilities, to provide computer and network security information and related documents for system administrators, and conduct a series of training programs to raise the awareness of information security。 The missions and goals of TACERT are as follows: 1.To accelerate the circulations of network security information in order to enhance the safety of TANet. 2.To assist the handling of computer incidents around TANet. 3.To announce the system vulnerabilities information. 4.To provide security training and education programs on protection and defending technologies and skills. 5.To join the incident response organizations for sharing information security related experience, information and techniques. By raising the attention of network community to security issues and conducting related training programs, TACERT manage to enhance the security level of TANet, and proceed to prevent TANet users and their properties from being threatened by unauthorized activities and network attacks. TACERT interacts with Taiwan Computer Emergency Response Team (TWCERT/CC) and other international security organizations to exchange security related information, incident handling experience, and defense skills. TACERT is constantly improving the organization functions and reinforcing the network security response capabilities to provide better services and secure TANet. |
